Lotus Liège-Brescia-Liège 2027, May 26-June 7
Rally Liège-Brescia-Liège, first run in 1958 and revived by ClassicRallyPress for the 50th anniversary in 2008, will run again in 2027 exclusively for Lotus (and Lotus-related) cars.
This is a unique opportunity to follow the superb, original 1958 rally route through Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovenia, reliving the navigational challenges of the 1950s without the extreme time constraints of the original event! Instead the route (which they completed in three nights and two days!) is divided into 10 days of driving plus a day off in beautiful Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia. We stay at great hotels, visit fascinating places and drive a few competitive tests on private circuits en route. The competition is optional but designed to add to the fun - you can drive it as a tour if you prefer.
The event is divided into three separate categories -
Authentic for Lotus or Lotus-engined cars of a type that could have competed in the original Liège rallies (up to end 1971)
Spirit for Lotus and Lotus-engined cars built up to the end of the Colin Chapman era
Youngtimer for Lotus and Lotus-derived cars of a type introduced post-Chapman (1983 on).
Lotus cars did compete in the original rallies run by the Royal Motor Union of Liège: an original Elite (which survives to this day) took part in the 1960 Liège-Rome-Liège and a team of Lotus Cortinas WON the 1966 Marathon de la Route. Come and pay tribute to them on this, the first and only Historic Rally run exclusively for Lotus cars.
